AMST Awarded!

Yesterday at PROVADA, our project AMST was awarded this year’s Mid-Rent Award. The jury awarded the prize to AMST for the courage shown in the process, the reproducibility, the social cohesion that the design promotes and above all for renewing and improving the quality of living for middle incomes.

The Mid-rent Award is an initiative of mid-rent developer Sustay and consultancy Stec Groep and works with partners TU Delft, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and PropertyNL. With the award, all parties want to put middle-rent initiatives in the spotlight. The segment adds a lot to the stalled housing market; it provides a large group of Dutch people affordable housing. Middle incomes are often not able to buy a house, while also not being eligible for social housing. The segment also mixes well with social rent and purchase, which results in even more mixed neighbourhoods.

AMST is a mixed-use sustainable MicroCity  making affordable housing possible for middle incomes in the lively metropolis of Amsterdam – next to Amstelstation. With an impressive number of mid-rent homes, stimulating quality of urban social life and realizing self-sufficiency in energy and water, AMST is a proud winner of this award!
