Aquatics Centre Paris 2024 nominated for MIPIM Awards 2022
24 February 2022
The MIPIM Awards 2022 shortlists are out! And we’re proud to find the Aquatics Centre for Paris2024 nominated as one of four finalists in the Best Futura Project category of this internationally renowned real estate competition.
We’re looking forward to the prestigious Awards Ceremony that will be held in the Palais des Festivals on Thursday 17 March!
The jury, chaired by François Trausch, Global CEO & CIO of Allianz Real Estate, reviewed the entries from all over the world and shortlisted the top projects in each category.
The recommendation:
The Olympic Aquatic Centre for Paris2024 emerges as a concave wooden sculpture amidst a green urban landscape, underscoring its sustainable values. During the Games, up to 5.000 spectators can witness the competitions for water polo, diving, and synchronized swimming here. Thereafter, the complex’s legacy is an inviting multifunctional sports center for the neighbourhood. The surrounding park is designed for sports and relaxation, catalysts for meeting and social interaction. Both stadium and Pedestrian Overpass over the A1 blend an urban strategy with architectural gestures to advance the connectivity and environmental economy and breathe new life into the Plaine Saulnier eco-district development.
