VenhoevenCS improves accessibility of 9 stations
7 April 2016
Contractor K_Dekker bouw & infra commissioned VenhoevenCS to improve the accessibility of the platforms of 9 train stations in the Netherlands to facilitate passengers with an impairment. To reach this goal VenhoevenCS works in close cooperation with Sophia Engineering, Klaver (installations), Sweco (constructive and civil engineering) and of course K_Dekker bouw & infra.
The project is part of the accessibility program of ProRail and NS. In 2020 at least 90% of the passengers should be able to travel to stations which can be entered independently according to this program. In 2030 all stations should be independently accessible.
ProRail contracted K_Dekker bouw & infra b.v. to improve the accessibility of the platforms of 9 stations (Eindhoven Strijp-S, Heeze, Wolfheze, Bloemendaal, Driehuis, Haarlem Spaarnwoude, Den Helder Zuid, Tilburg Reeshof en Arnhem Presikhaaf) by placing elevators and (adjusting) ramps. Â VenhoevenCS is responsible for the architectural design, consultation with users and support in the planning procedures.
