All eyes on Brisbane
21 October 2025
What can Brisbane 2032 learn from Paris 2024?
“While working on the Olympic Aquatic Centre we discovered that the real magic wasn’t in the word Olympic, but in the way we worked together. When trust, curiosity and shared ambition guide the process, everyone brings out their best — and extraordinary projects become possible.”
– Cécilia Gross
At The Architecture Symposium: All Eyes on Brisbane (a Design Speaks program organised by Architecture Media), Cécilia Gross of VenhoevenCS architecture+urbanism and Laure Meriaud of 2/3/4/ shared the story behind the Centre Aquatique Olympique Métropole du Grand Paris and what it can teach Brisbane as the city looks toward 2032. The takeaway was straightforward: build what endures, keep ambitions right-sized, and connect venues to daily city life.
