A place where living, care and community come together

Timpaan and VenhoevenCS architecture+urbanism have won the tender for the Erasmusplein in Vlaardingen with WEST// — an innovative residential care project that gives the Westwijk a new anchor point: socially strong, spatially refined, and open to the neighbourhood.

WEST// brings living and care closer together. It offers a home for young starters, seniors, and people in need of support — all part of an open and inclusive community. The project stands for Wonen, Ervaren, Samen, Thuis (Living, Experiencing, Together, Home) and unites high-quality architecture, social sustainability and biodiversity in one forward-looking concept that integrates housing and care under a single roof.

Developed by Timpaan and designed by VenhoevenCS architecture+urbanism, in collaboration with LOLA Landscape Architects, ICSzorg, Volantis, Vink Bouw and community manager Carlijn Bergshoeff, the plan comprises: 70 owner-occupied apartments, 42 rental care apartments, a Child Development Centre operated by Ipse de Bruggen
