Social Cohesion
With a lively ground floor and welcoming design, the building invites interaction between visitors and the surrounding community. Patios and stepped terraces create a natural transition between the park-like environment and the complex, connecting indoor and outdoor spaces effortlessly.

Green and Grand Ambitions
The goals for sustainability within the municipality of Apeldoorn are translated to a natural and circular design. Inspired by the beauty of Hoge Veluwe and the local theme “Green and Grand,” the architectural design reflects these ambitions. Featuring angled roofs and terraced forms, the striking wooden structure highlights the architectural identity. Circular materials take center stage: reused paving stones collected from the neighborhood serve as bricks, and the prominent use of wood brings the warmth of nature indoors.

Transparency and Inclusivity
The glass façade creates a harmonious link between sport and nature, offering panoramic views of the lush green surroundings while making the energy and activity within visible to all. Visitors can enjoy views of the pools from every public space, contributing to the dynamic and atmosphere and enriching the sports experience.

The use of circular materials, the transparancy of the facade and the clever structuring of the spaces inside come together in a balanced manner. This design promises a building that strongly contributes to  the social cohesion and societal envolvement of the Apeldoorn North area.
