We are proud to find IJboulevard announced to be the winner at this year’s Archello Awards – especially because it is taking home both the professional jury prize as well as the one from the public voters.
After this highly technical and exceptionally meticulous ‘tour de force’, this award is recognition for the VenhoevenCS tradition of turning functional infrastructural features into seductive spaces that contribute to urban culture.

The Archello Awards is a global awards programme celebrating the very best architecture projects and building products in the world.
Underwater bike parking IJboulevard was featured in the Award’s category Transportation Hub of the Year. Sited in a complex urban location of Amsterdam Central Station, the project delivered a significant contribution to the city, transforming the area to facilitate cyclists and commuters while providing new calm and panoramic public space at one of the most hectic transportation hubs in the Netherlands.
Opened to the public in February 2023, IJboulevard can be experienced by everyone as the culmination of technical innovation, finesses in design, and international allure.
