We are happy to be part of the green mobility transformation of Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof by designing the new underground bicycle parking! It is the official policy of Düsseldorf’s city council to promote bicycle use, especially for people who commute. Currently there is no designated facility for bicycles at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof; the building of the bicycle parking will therefore be a strong instrument in furthering the city’s green mobility goals. It will hold about 1.900 park places!

VenhoevenCS architecture+urbanism is partnering up with Wendt – Witte – Pirlet Ingenieurgesellschaft. The design incorporates an existing underground bunker. This will decrease the project’s overall use of building material and is a first step in the project’s sustainability objectives.
