Construction started: 735 student homes at the TU/e-campus in Eindhoven
16 November 2022
Construction started of 735 student homes at the TU/e-campus in Eindhoven. To mark the moment, Eindhoven mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem was offered a glimpse of the future campus through Virtual Reality.
The lively campus is designed by VenhoevenCS for (international) students and researchers to feel at home. It facilitates an inspiring community, which closely connects living, relaxing and working in an attractive setting to stimulate collaboration and social encounters.
To encourage informal meetings, the middle of the campus is designed as a student village with many different social spots, such as a thrift store, shared kitchen-diners, a Mobility hub and a Makerspace. All student residences will have a kitchen window to overlook the space and promote interaction between residents. The student houses are equipped with extra high ceilings, plenty of daylight and common areas for activities and, for example, cooking together. All ingredients are present to make the Eindhoven University Student Campus a lively place where everyone can feel at home.
